About Us

The Rockstar Foundation

Founded by entrepreneur Eddie Phanichkul in 2014, the Rockstar Art & Science Education Advancement Foundation is a future 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation based in San Diego, CA. Our immediate mission is to use music to educate underprivileged children. We'll do this by creating hands-on experiences and performances for children to get them excited about music, and then ultimately science and arts and beyond. Our secondary mission is to create grant and scholarship programs designed to help youth and young adults afford tools for science, technology, art, and music, while offering low-cost or no-cost workshops designed to reinforce and educate youth and young adults on conceptual science, technology, art, and music. We have planned pilot programs in San Diego, CA, USA, Bangkok, Thailand, and Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Message From the Executive Director

Traveling the world, I've seen children and families in need. At an early age, I planned on doing something about it, but didn't know how. I've volunteered helping families in Mexico, Thailand, and home in the United States. In 2013, board member Stacy Librandi asked me to help with her cause of supporting children and earthquake victims in Haiti, and again without a lot of resources, I wasn't quite sure how to help when she said to me, "Just get out here and do it." The wheels began turning. After traveling to Bangkok, Thailand in 2013 to visit family and visiting children at the SOS Children's Village, I decided to finally transition from being an entrepreneur to becoming a nonprofit advocate; one that would advocate for kids and families, who like me didn't have a lot of money growing up. I want to help children, youth, and young adults with micro-grants, micro-loans, or scholarships for arts and science education and develop and teach programs and workshops to further advance their learning. I believe that helping disadvantaged kids at an early age will aid in their development and make them better suited to thrive in the world. Please take a moment to learn about our programs and services which are designed to change the lives of those in youth need. We are just starting out, but our mission is simple: Help get youth ready for the world! I invite you to donate money or volunteer your time to our cause. Your gift may be tax deductible, and with it, we can change the world. Yours truly, Eddie Phanichkul Executive Director
